Today i had a bad day. I was called, once again, to defend myself for not doing my job right. My job right? Currently i have 2 maybe 3 different jobs in that company. Full time jobs! I have to work about 10 hours (currently i do 10 dialy) more daily to finish what they expect me to do.
The pattern here is to assign new responsibilities with our droping any. 7 months ago i had a full time book keeping task (ok not that full had some time for linked select boxes). Then administration had the idea to get an ERP software to organize the production of the factory. ERP needs to define for every single product the consumptions and generaly 1234234234 things. None of those are on paper, not even the exact product descriptions. Everything is in somebody's mind. Who is good with data? Who can use excel? Just one matched the profile. Me. So that task was added to my list.
Sounds strange that they couldnt find excel users? In 20 people here in admin dept only 3 can use it. Average age is 50 :)
The company that provided the software discovered that there is a nice guy in our company that can code, manage databases so he can help setting up the software. Thats me! Yes configuring the software was added to my list also.
Training the users? Who can understand easily software? Being a coder automaticaly means that you can use any software in the world?? Yes, yes that was also added to my list.
After 3 months with out progress they removed 60% of book keeping task. ERP company filled the gap.
Strangling to collect production details, you know how it works? can you write my this and that? Not now i am bussy, come back next week.
Configure the ERP. I have learn my self how to use the dumn software!

Now 20 days to official start of ERP's operation everyone discovers that what info they were giving me all this time is partialy wrong, that they werent properly trained or not trained at all. And my supervisor keeps asking why the progress is slow!! Can you explain to an accountant that i had to spend 1 week just to find which tables and which fields i had to fill in order to write an import script?

Tables are names with 3 letter names and there are 1254 tables. Table STI holds products :D

And 2 months ago happend something that i want to share with you all :)

No, i dont want to excuse my self with post. First i needed to let the steam out and wanted to say that i didnt forgot my promise for that ajax plugin for OpenRealty and and to comment code that good in order to be rewritten in CF.
Havent forgotten you guys :)
Just hard times.
